Recovery of Janam Sakhi and Cartridges: SIT Files Chargesheet Against Sirsa Cult Disciples
Posted: 23 Mar 2019 08:40 PM PDTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Special Investigation Team headed by DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra has finally filed chargesheet against the Sirsa cult disciples in a case pertaining to the recovery of  “Bhai Bala Ji Wali Janam Sakhi” and 25 used cartridges of a .32 bore revolver. It is learnt that the chargesheet has been filed in the Court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) of Faridkot against Mohinder Pal Bittu, Shakti Singh, Sukhjinder Singh alias Sunny and Mohinder Kumar.
It may be recalled here that the Police team probing sacrilege cases had conducted raid on the house of Mohinder Pal Bittu in June last year and the Sikh scripture “Bhai Bala Ji Wali Janam Sakhi” was recovered from there in a very disgraceful place.
Sharing the development with media, SIT head DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra informed that the chargesheet has been filed in a case registered against these Sirsa cult disciples under FIR No. 89 dated June 13, 2018 at Kotkapura police station registered under section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code. “Provisions of UAPA were later added to the FIR as there was recovery of used cartridges, a written slip directing Mohinder Pal Bittu to target trains and railway stations, and some transactions of money were also involved,” he said while adding that the chargesheet has been filed after procuring sanction for prosecuting the arrested Sirsa cult disciples under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
