ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab (October 2, 2015)—SGPC member Gurinder Singh from Sri Anandpur Sahib area has resigned from his post in protest of Takht Jathedars’ move on pardoning Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Terming the act of exonerating Sirsa cult chief as a purely politically motivated move, S. Gurinder Singh said that the Takht Jathedars have eroded the customs of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He added that the Takht Jathedars’ ought to restore its earlier stand of boycotting Sirsa cult chief observing outrage among Sikh masses after their move.
He also demanded that Sukhbir Badal should be summoned on Sri Akal Takht Sahib for having meetings with the Sirsa Cult Chief in Mumbai.
