Who is Guilty for the Pakhand
Ritual of Akhand Paathh?
Sri Guru Granth Sahib has 1430 pages.

To perform continuous reading in 48 hours as in AKHAND PAATHH, it requires reading 30 pages in one hour which is quite unrealistic. As established and recorded, an expert paathhee can read only 20 pages per hour. For example, in Sri Granth Sahib bani Sukhmani covers 33 pages, from page 262 to 296 and clear reading of this takes almost two hours as being practiced all over the world.

Well-known Expert like Prof. Satnam Singh Sethi and Giaani Maskinjee could read only 20 pages per hour (What they recorded at Bangla Sahib). Accordingly, non stop continuous and clear reading of GGS will take at least 70 hours to complete. The current practice by so called Paathhee  Singh and most of our ignorant Sikhs are colossal waste of time, money and energy.

There is an urgent need to put an end to this ritual of Akhand reading as this is a soft way of plundering and cheating the community.

The Giaan Padarath or our Giaan Guru Commands full respect and great honor and should never be treated the way it is being allowed to the readers by the Sikh mass.

Each and every GurSikh needs to understand the divine values of Gurbani and Gurmat as gifted to the Sikhs by our Gurus. The ritual is growing skillfully on a commercial scale and in unethical way all over the world. It is high time for a true Sikh to get involved and read the Bani carefully as Sehaj Paathh and try to understand the message of Gurmat hidden in it.

Those who involve in current practice of this Pakhand ritual share equal
responsibility and none is beneficiary out of this. Guru Arjun on page 546 has clearly declared

“Pāp kamāvḏiā ṯerā koe na belī rām”.
