Indian’s World Sikh Convention on 4 Oct. 2014
Respected Sikh Cyber Members,
 Thanks a lot for sharing the gist of World Sikh Convention held at Indiana State of USA on 4th October 2014.
I wish to bring to the notice of the World Sikh Convention’s Parbandhaks that I, citizen of Australia, do not follow (1) Nanakshahi Calendar either adopted in 2003 or revised in 2010. I have expressed my views in the Attachment Article, which I am sure that Website: www.khalsanews.org won’t have any objection to share with other well-wishers.
(2) Reg. Bachiter Natak: It stands already rejected when before breathing his last on 7th October 1708, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib had ordained: “Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai, Guru Maniyo Granth”. Accordingly, Sikhs spread all over the world have been reciting Bani in the Guru Granth Sahib. Hence, no other person or Committee or Dera could interfere in the Guru’s edict.
(3) Sikh Rehat Maryada 1945 contained a lot of inaccuracies, being not conforming to Gurbani and as such several issues mentioned therein are not acceptable. I don’t know whether the concerned Orator touched/commented on those burning topics. However, Attachment is for your kind information.
(4) Sant-Baba Cult: As discussed in the Convention, no Sikh should associate with any such sant-baba cult, which has been popularized by the followers of Sant Atar Singh, Baba Nand Singh, Baba Ishar Singh, Damdami Taksaalis and Sant Samaj Deravaad. In this respect, an old Article is attached for information.
(5) SGPC: The Sikh Diaspora do not fall within the jurisdiction of SGPC, which represents the Sikhs of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh only as per The Sikh Gurdwaras Act 1925. Hence, there is no need to follow its directives or any edict issued by their Pujari Head Ministers, who are merely goluck servants like any other Bhai, Granthi, Kirtani Jathaa.
