Dear Readers of The Sikh Bulletin,
We are pleased to deliver the latest issue of The Sikh Bulletin - 2025 Issue 2 (April-June 2025). The contributions within this issue are as follows:
-
The Editorial titled Happy Vaisakhi 1469, Happy Vaisakhi 1699 links and presents both events as milestones on the journey of the one and same spiritual journey. Chief Editor Karminder Singh Dhillon, PhD argues that the journey of spiritual completion was initiated with the advent of Guru Nanak on 1st of Vaisakh 1469 and celebrated 230 years later on 1st of Vaisakh 1699. He laments that the Sikh world has become removed from the essence of both events: Vaisakhi 1469 has gotten erased from the Sikh psyche as the birthdate of Guru Nanak, and Vaisakhi 1699 has become mired in unbelievable tales of the Guru beheading his own Sikhs before bringing them back to life.
