Family Members of Martyred Sikh Youths Appreciate Punjab Government’s Announcement
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:13 AM PDTBARGARI, Faridkot—Welcoming the Punjab government’s move of announcing compensation for the victims of Behbal Klan tragedy on July 30, the family members of Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Shaheed Bhai Gurjit Singh Nikke Sarawan have said that justice was more needed than compensations. They added that the Police cops responsible for opening firing on the peacefully protesting Sikhs are at large even after three years of the tragedy and they ought to be brought to justice at the earliest.
Interacting with media on July 30, the family of the duo martyred Sikhs said that the Punjab government’s move was appreciable and the government should take action on it as soon as possible. In contrast to the resentment among Sikh masses regarding handing over of the investigation of Behbal Klan tragedy to the CBI, they hailed the Punjab government’s move.
Bapu Mohinder Singh (father of Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh), Bapu Sadhu Singh (father of Shaheed Bhai Gurjit Singh), Bhai Sukhraj Singh (son of Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh) etc. were present on this occasion.
It may be recalled here that the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh had announced to provide compensation worth Rupees 10 million to the family of the duo martyrs along with a government job to one family member on July 30.
