SGPC Remunerates Rebel Sikh Army Men
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:05 AM PDTAMRITSAR SAHIB—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee today provided financial aid of Rupees 50,000/- to several rebel Sikh army men who had left their barracks in protest of military attack on the holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib in June-1984. The beneficiary Sikh army men were given checks of Rupees 50,000/- at SGPC’s headquarter by the Dharam Prachar Committee members S. Manjit Singh Bappiana, S. Rampal Singh Behniwal and SGPC secretary S. Manjit Singh Bath.
Interacting with media, the SGPC Secretary S. Manjit Singh Bath informed that the SGPC has decided to offer financial aid of Rupees 50,000/- annually to all those rebel Sikh army men who are not given pensions by the Indian government. He added that some of the rebel Sikh army men have been given this financial while the rest will be provided the same in coming days.
S. Bakhshish Singh Qadian, S. Sarwan Singh, S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Kulwant Singh, S. Balkar Singh, S. Jagjot Singh, S. Ranjit Singh, S. Sawinder Singh, S. Baldev Singh, S. Harnek Singh etc. were among those remunerated by the SGPC today.
