“Khalistani Thinker Award” for Writer Sarabjit Ghuman Who Once Justified Dr. Sohan Singh

The Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala, whose president Balwant Singh Gopala has been recently elected as a “Sarpanch” under the Indian Panchayati election system, has announced to honor the writer Sarabjit Singh Ghuman with “Khalistani Thinker Award”.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, the senior vice president of SYFB Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal has claimed that Sarabjit Singh Ghuman is defendant of Khalistani ideology among the Sikh youths. “Ghuman has been serving for the Sikh cause for a long time by working on the life stories of Sikh martyrs and penning articles on the current Sikh issues. He has penned a number of books, including the one ‘The Butcher of Punjab’ released recently” he added.
It is pertinent to note here that Sarabjit Singh Ghuman’s biased writings on the internal Sikh issues had been always controversial among Sikh community. During the past years, he had tried to give a clean chit to Dr. Sohan Singh at the behest of his “bosses”. To prove Dr. Sohan Singh innocent and truthful, he even ignored the statement of Dr. Sohan Singh published in a mainstream newspaper in which he had straightforwardly said that he didn’t ever demand Khalistan.
Dr. Sohan Singh had played an instrumental role in the boycott of elections in 1992 which had ultimately paved way for the formation of Beant “Singh” led Congress government in Punjab. Sikh parties were forced to boycott the 1992’s assembly elections on gunpoint by the Dr. Sohan Singh led Panthik Committee.
On being questioned about who gave them right to confer such an award, Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal couldn’t lodge any satisfactory answer.
