ਇੱਕ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁਖਾਂਤ  

ਪੁੱਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਚ’ ਮਰਦੀ ਦੇਖੀ,
ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਂ ਇੱਟਾਂ ਚ’ ਪਈ ਧੁੱਪ ਚ’ ਸੜਦੀ ਵੇਖੀ,
ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਖਬਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਸੀ,
ਉਸ ਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੀੜਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਸੀ,
ਵੱਡੇ ਅਫਸਰ ਬਣੇ ਖੋਖਲੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ,
ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਨ,
ਸੇਧ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ,
ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮੀ,ਬੇਗੈਰਤ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਅਪਮਾਣ,
ਅੱਜ ਦੇਖੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਚ’ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ,
ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਪੁੱਤ ਦਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਲਾਡ ਲੜਾਇਆ,
ਪਰ ਪੁੱਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਬੇਵੱਸ ਹੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਇਆ,
ਚੰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬਾਂਝ ਹੁੰਦੀ,
ਘਰ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ...

The tragedy of a mother

 See son dying in love,

Today I saw a mother burning in the sun in bricks,

The whole day there was a power of news,

 That mother was nothing but worms,

 Big officers became hollow people,

That's why she brought her mother to the graveyard,

 These people are talking about giving guidance to the society,

Shameless, shameless words also insulted,

Today I have seen such people in my society,

 The son whose mother loved so much,

 But the son looked helpless in his turn,

 It would have been better if she was barren,

 The roof of the house is his own...
