It’s snowballing into a big crisis for India. Truck drivers are fleeing in hordes — around 85% have gone missing, according to industry estimates — abandoning their vehicles and jobs. It’ll damage India’s war on the pandemic, extracting a heavy price. The simmering crisis will cause a shortage of essential and non-essential goods, and will be inflationary. Dwindling remuneration and concerns about catching the virus, are among the many reasons for the disappearing act by drivers. It’s a complex problem.
The wheels of the economy can’t move without trucks

The refiners and oil marketers can’t profit from a benign crude as there is no demand in the economy due to lockdown. In fact, they are facing margin squeeze and heavy inventory losses.
