The Economic Growth and The Communal Polarisation in India
By Balbir Singh Sooch-Sikh Vichar Manch
PM of India, Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi and his supporters do not see any contradiction between the two, ‘Economic Growth and Communal Polarisation in India’, but the Sikh Vichar Manch is not of the view being expressed as PM of India, Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi seems totally a changed person now and shall not allow to repeat the inhuman past in India, in the context being repeated and expressed now and then.
“…The second narrative unfolding at the same time focuses on the template of majoritarianism defined by the Sangh Parivar’s principal belief that India is a Hindu nation. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, declared that “India is a Hindu state and citizens of Hindustan should be known as Hindus.” Endorsing the RSS view, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla, said, “there is nothing wrong in calling all Indians Hindus,” which she later denied. A similar statement was made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath while opening the Lok Sabha debate on communal violence — “Hindutva is a symbol of Indian nationalism.” That this speech evoked table thumping from his fellow BJP MPs makes it even more significant- Extract from Politics without the minorities-Courtesy THE HINDU”…..and so on.
Although, the regional parties feel better not to form the ‘Third Front’, but join an alliance with BJP or alliance with Congress and then exploit and or selfishly and blindly follow like their (alliances) slaves respectively at the cost of their minorities, communities etc, who are always facing open and also unreported one-sided aggressive communal clashes and hatred in India.
In spite of then the observation about Mr. Modi in the article, ‘Commissions of Injustice: By Khushwant Singh, now deceased, as under:
Khushwant Singh about Modi: “Then we had pogroms of Muslims in Gujarat, following the burning of a rail coach along with passengers at the Godhra railway station in 2002. Over 2,000 innocent Muslims, including a former MP, were killed. There is plenty of recorded evidence made through a sting operation by Tehalka that Modi himself gave the green signal to vandals to do what they liked to Muslims for three days, and teach them a lesson without bothering about the police. Goondas took the law into their own hands and went on a killing spree.
No action was taken against Modi, who had a stout protector in LK Advani because Advani depended on Modi to return him to Parliament. Instead, Modi was praised for his good administration and as a promoter of industry. Ratan Tata shifted his Nano-manufacturing plant from West Bengal to Gujarat. Other industrialists lauded him for containing trade unions.” - Courtesy The Tribune, Chandigarh.
“Communal violence against minorities in Gujarat is connected to a rise of Hindu nationalism through grassroots mobilization by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Bajrang Dal, and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) collectively form the 'sangh parivar'.”
The Sikh Vichar Manch feels that PM of India, Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi is totally a changed person now and shall not allow the ‘Communal Polarisation in India’ hereafter as there is always apprehension from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, declared that “India is a Hindu state and citizens of Hindustan should be known as Hindus and or “Hindutva is a symbol of Indian nationalism etc”, and, leaders of his Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have joined right-wing activists like 'sangh parivar' to openly declare India a nation of Hindus, posing a challenge to its multi-faith constitutional commitment.
It seems that PM of India, Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi may prove his critics wrong, remained so till now, and, Mr. Modi is only after achieving the targets of ‘The Economic Growth’ and the ‘Harmony’ and putting all efforts and sources to succeed in the fields in India now.
