1.      “Heartburn, also known as pyrosis, cardialgia or acid indigestion-corrosive substance; chemistry a sour-tasting compound that releases hydrogen ions to form a solution with a pH of less than 7, reacts with a base to form a salt, and turns blue litmus red’ is a burning sensation in the central chest or upper central abdomen. The discomfort often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw.
2.      Heartburn is usually due to regurgitation-‘bring food up from stomach; to bring undigested or partially digested food up from the stomach to the mouth’, of gastric acid (gastric reflux)-‘of stomach; relating to, involving, or near the stomach’;

4.      Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD’. In about 0.6% of cases it is a symptom of ischemic- ‘Ischemia or ischaemia is a restriction in blood supply to tissues, causing a shortage of oxygen that is needed for cellular metabolism (to keep tissue alive)’.
