“So why call her bad? From her, kings are born. So kio manda akhiya jit jame rajan”: Guru Nanak
The Sikh Vichar Manch is trying to remember women's Day in practice and always, which seems impossible in India? Is it not only customary remembering women's Day in India, though the circumstances stand changed now as “Thousands of women expected to be at all 3 protest sites in Delhi today,” The Indian EXPRESS?
No India for women: Irrespective of position, they are exploited, abused: That a staggering one in three women has faced sexual or physical violence points to the myopic, narrow- mindedness, unfairness, intolerance of men that sees women as inferiors or chattels-property, goods.
These remarks of a Madras High Court Bench last week as it took suo motu notice of the struggle faced by a woman IPS officer in bringing to dock her senior, a Special DGP of Tamil Nadu, for alleged sexual harassment and subsequent abuse of authority to influence the case sadly sum up the general patriarchal oppression in our society.
The horrible incident of girls at a hostel in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, being reportedly stripped and forced to dance by policemen is another case of rampant misuse of power and position by law enforcers and protectors.
“No country for women: Irrespective of position, they are exploited, abused: This court shudders to think as to what would have happened if the victim was an officer belonging to a lower cadre… If that is the position in which lady officers are placed, it is hard to think as to what will happen if such sexual harassment had taken place on an ordinary lady with no background.’

Women, irrespective of having achieved high positions in workplaces, remain unsafe from unwelcome overtures of predatory men lurking at every other corner.
That a staggering one in three women has faced sexual or physical violence points to the myopic, narrow- mindedness, unfairness, intolerance of men that sees women as inferiors or chattels-property, goods.
Incidentally, technology is coming to the rescue of victims, though many times it also becomes a source of blackmail.

The case would have, perhaps, not found resonance in the state’s Assembly and calls for justice not made but for the emergence of its video recording.   Equally reprehensible is the alleged sex-for-job scandal that has embroiled Karnataka Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. Though pleading not guilty, he was forced to resign a day later when an incriminating video surfaced.
However, the final delivery of justice to the victims is a long haul even after the registration of the case. The NCRB 2019 report indicates a grim pendency in courts of 90 per cent and a conviction rate of less than 25 per cent in crimes against women. Instilling in boys the values of respecting girls and women and treating them as equals is essential to curb the oppression that they are subjected to”.   “Why Can't Women Live In Peace In This Country-INDIA; Asked: ‘The Supreme Court On The Topic Of Crime Against Women In India’?
Hearing the appeal, the court stated that the man had created a situation which had compelled the (HAPLESS) girl (s) to commit suicide: Very rightly observed by Honble Supreme Court of India ( in short, after mental depression, anxiety etc after getting them mentally tortured by their husbands including her- in- laws directly and indirectly by all means normally).
New Delhi: Irked over growing crimes against women, the Supreme Court bench on Sunday asked why women cannot live in peace in this Country. The SC observation came when a bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra was hearing an appeal filed by a man who was sentenced to seven years in imprisonment by the Himachal Pradesh High Court for allegedly teasing and compelling a 16-year-old girl to commit suicide.
“To my mind, the answer as to 'why cannot Women Live in Peace in This Country-INDIA’  can be found out easily if some independent investigating agency is deployed in such reported cases and the reasons of over growing crimes against women in India: that the men create a situation which compel the (HAPLESS) girl (s)-women to commit suicide; to say in short, after mental depression, anxiety etc after they get mentally tortured in isolation by their husbands including her- in- laws and or someone else associated within and outside gang directly and indirectly by all means normally being all hapless as being noticed personally.
Similarly, it is very rightly observed by Honble Supreme Court of India as reported today.  “But from where was to find an independent investigating agency for the job in India?” Refer:   ‘Daughter Crying Save My Dignity: I Am Your Daughter’: Posted on Apr 26, 17 | 6:03 am: South Asian Pulse
